Packers Injury Report – Week 1 Injuries
The Packers have a few players out for Week 1 due to injuries. Defensive tackle David Bakhtiari, offensive lineman Elgton Jenkins and safety Darnell Savage have all been limited in practice this week. Tight end Robert Tonyan is also out with a knee injury. The good news is that the injuries are not serious and most players will be able to play in Week 1.
Allen Lazard not practicing
Green Bay Packers wide receiver Allen Lazard has been out of practice this week and could miss the opening game of the season against the Vikings. It’s unclear how serious Lazard’s injury is, but head coach Matt LaFleur told reporters last week that the wide receiver was stepped on and did not practice. The team is expected to release an injury report later on Wednesday. Lazard has been a key offensive weapon for the Packers. Last season, he caught 40 passes for 513 yards.
Davante Adams not practicing
Davante Adams was not listed on the Packers injury report on Thursday. While he has missed a few practices in the past, Adams has not missed any practices this week. Although his participation has been limited, his status does not make him ineligible for Week 14. For now, the rookie is a must-start in all fantasy leagues.
Josiah Deguara not practicing
On Tuesday, the Packers placed tight end Josiah Deguara on injured reserve with a knee injury. Deguara, a third-round pick out of Cincinnati, suffered the injury last week against Atlanta. He made one catch for 12 yards and played on 31 offensive snaps and eight special teams snaps. Deguara’s injury leaves three tight end spots on the 53-man roster. The Packers could use Kamal Martin to fill two of those spots.
Marquez Valdes-Scantling not practicing
After missing the first two games of the season, the Packers did not practice wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantring on Wednesday. Valdes-Scantling has been dealing with a back issue. He has not practiced since Week 16. His absence from practice this week could have a bearing on whether he plays against the 49ers this Saturday.
Marquez St. Brown not practicing
The Green Bay Packers have placed wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling on injured reserve. The team also announced that Equanimeous St. Brown will be elevated from the practice squad to the active roster for Sunday’s game against the Bears. Valdes-Scantling will miss the Packers’ next three games against Cincinnati, Chicago, and Pittsburgh.
Robert Tonyan not practicing
The Packers are unsure whether defensive tackle Robert Tonyan will be available for Week 1 against the Vikings, according to a team injury report. The defensive end has not practiced since tearing his ACL in his left knee last season, but he’s expected to participate in team drills on Sunday. That could mean that he’s ready to play Week 1, which is expected to be a road game against the Vikings.
Christian Watson not practicing
Christian Watson did not practice Wednesday, according to a Packers injury report. The wide receiver underwent surgery on his knee this summer and has been out of action since. Watson missed training camp and the first two exhibition games. While the Packers were hopeful that he would be ready for the season opener in Kansas City, they have opted not to risk the rookie. Instead, they have drafted Romeo Doubs, who was inconsistent in the preseason.
