Michigan Football Recruiting

While Michigan does not have many top prospects in the 2018 recruiting class, the Michigan offense has some intriguing pieces. For starters, the Michigan offensive line has already won the Joe Moore Award for being the best in the nation, and ESPN 300 running back Cole Cabana has pledged his commitment to the Wolverines. At running back, he is the third-highest ranked recruit at his position. Fortunately, he will have the opportunity to play early. Michigan will likely have a crowded backfield with only a redshirt freshman or sophomores to choose from.

Collier’s PPI program

In recent years, the Michigan football recruiting program has been getting international players from France and Germany. The newest commitment comes from Manuel Beigel, a 6’5″, 285-pound defensive lineman from Germany. Beigel has been working with Brandon Collier of the PPI program, a football recruiting firm focused on developing international athletes. Collier previously worked with Notre Dame’s Julius Welshoff and Mike Alston. The relationship between the two men has been beneficial for Michigan football recruiting.

Drake Harris

If you’re looking for a high school quarterback, Drake Harris has some big-time college interest. He initially committed to Michigan State last year, but decommitted early to visit other schools. He also spent time at U-M basketball games after decommitting from MSU. Michigan is among the top schools chasing Harris, and he has already visited a number of big-time programs. However, his verbal commitment isn’t binding until he signs his official letter of intent in February.

Alexander Ehrensberger

The high school quarterback Alexander Ehrensberger is committed to Notre Dame, and has visited the school several times. His commitment was made in January. He will be enrolling there in a few weeks. In November, he visited Michigan, Penn State and Ohio State. A review of his film shows him to be an excellent athlete, with a high ceiling. But, is Michigan the right school for him?

Jadyn Davis

In order to be competitive in the Class of 2024, Michigan football needs a top prospect like Davis to commit. Getting Davis to commit and visit the Wolverines in the spring is the key to the Michigan football recruiting process. Davis was due to visit Georgia this week, but he said he won’t make a decision until after his official visits next spring. Michigan must do whatever it takes to land this top prospect.

Blake Corum

While some might consider him an underrated running back, others might look past him as a high-quality prospect. Corum, a junior, is one of the most promising young players in college football. He’s a jack of all trades, who can make a big impact on offense and special teams. In fact, Corum might end up being Michigan’s most important player in 2022. If he can stay healthy, he could become the best player in the program, and his athleticism is just one of the many reasons why Michigan football recruiting might be a strong choice.
